Competition Winners 2025

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the International Poster Competition.

It was an honour to welcome your work and see all of your inspiring posters.

The jury members were thoroughly impressed by the quality of work submitted and you made it an incredibly difficult process to select winners and the final selections for the International Poster Exhibition, International Poster Book and Poster World app.

Each year a new jury is invited to review and critique the submissions.

The competition is reviewed and co-curated by a new international jury each year. This year the jury includes Maximage (Switzerland), Bráulio Amado (Portugal/USA), Kristýna Kulíková (Czech Republic), Shin Shin (South Korea), and Warriors Studio (Scotland, UK)

All posters are considered however the jury keep a particular eye open for posters which alter perceptions or ways of thinking, offer creative solutions to problems, contribute to current affairs, open dialogues for debate, provoke discussions and make innovative use of media or medium.

The 2025 competition received 2,232 works from 86 countries in 2025. All posters are designed between 2023-2025.

We have curated 180 which we believe to be diverse and high quality for you to enjoy and consider.

These posters will be showcased in the International Poster Exhibition at The Pyramid at Anderston, Scotland between 7th – 21st November 2025, in Olympia Gallery and the Poster World app in collaboration with Nam Huynh and Sebastian Andre. These entries will also be showcased in the International Poster Book.

55 posters were awarded with jury commendations and 4 posters (or poster series) were selected as winners.

The jury are pleased to share with you the winners of 2025 International Poster Competition and posters given commendations below:

Nouveau Poem
Juliette Dupont-Duchesne

1st Place Winner

Nouveau Poem
Juliette Dupont-Duchesne

1st Place Winner

Congratulations to Juliette! Nouveau Poem was awarded 1st place in the 2025 International Poster Competition.

The poster was created for Nouveau Poem, a poetry reading event in Montreal.

“I tried to use the purpose of the poster as a way of creating it. Like the guests of the poetry evening, I attempted—through a medium other than writing—to play with letters as a means of conveying information. The synonyms take the form of interchangeable typefaces, and the figures of speech are expressed through graphic inscriptions. I like to think of it as a work that is never truly finished—always open to change, reinterpretation, and new additions.”

Selected jury’s comments

Bráulio Amado: “The more I look at this poster, the more I find new delicious and fun details. I love that it was done with a mix of analog and digital techniques—It feels playful and beautiful and stood out right away in the mix of all the entries.”

Maximage: “It is precisely this encounter between historical heritage and modernity, combined with an initial discretion that invites closer contemplation, that makes this poster so compelling. Its strength lies in the depth that does not reveal itself at once but gradually unfolds. For these reasons, we believe it truly deserves first place.

Shin Shin: “Rather than sleekly arranged typography using collage techniques, it captures the texture of letters, senses the spaces between them, and discovers improvisation and rhythm in vocal sounds and movement—elements that transcend visual symbols like graphic patterns or punctuation marks. This poster embodies the beauty born from such dissonance, existing as an open work, unfinished as the designer stated, inviting new interpretations.”

Kristýna Kulíková: “It was very outstanding from the first time I saw it, immediately catching my attention. I especially like that the process itself becomes an important part of the work. The poster isn’t just about the end result, but about experimenting, layering, and reinterpreting, much like how poems are written and revised.”

Warriors Studio: “The poster is enchanting, whimsical, rich and living. It feels expressive, deep and personal. The tone, design choices and colour palette flreflect the imagined atmosphere of a poetry event beautifully. Juliette has created her own visual poetry in the poster—exploring language, emotion and tone of voice through a unique typographic language. The little shapes and glowing lines which dance between the letters also create a unique cryptic language, like a visual poetry and the irregular rhythm of the forms feels like a recital.”

Doomscrolling Live
Vlad Boyko

2nd Place Winner

Vlad Boyko’s poster Doomscrolling Live was awarded 2nd place in the 2025 International Poster Competition.

The poster was designed for an ambient night organised by SYSTM—a collective based between Brussels and Antwerp.

‘Doomscrolling Live’ is the event which combines an ambient DJ set and live visuals—a selection of memes/ found internet media, aligned into a narrative. To show this bond, I used a meme which combines both of these themes and repurposed it into a poster. Additionally, the character of the meme being a goblin sitting in a fantasy tavern, highlights the whimsicality and the magical feeling of the whole happening.’

Selected jury’s comments

Shin Shin: “The freely transformed, rhythmic typography, paired with the Goblin’s comical expression, blends perfectly to achieve aesthetic appeal. While it appears to create a lighthearted message and charming image, as if crafting a new meme for the performance promotion, the poster itself possesses a beauty born from the bold use of typography and the textured quality of the letters, which seem to evoke ambient sound”

Maximage: “Behind an apparently simple, monochromatic first impression, the poster reveals careful craftsmanship and a subtle complexity. The typographic choices blend seamlessly with the illustration, enhanced by finely worked textures, until they form a single, unified graphic whole.

Warriors Studio: “The synergy between the name of the event, the design of the poster and the overall tone perfectly captures the current wave of lust for ancient, medieval and magical worlds in digital spaces. It’s current, it’s internet, it’s crafted (but in a subtle way which makes it seem effortless) and it’s a rejection of polished professionalism.

Joint 3rd Place Winner

Martial Grin and Alix Debraine’s poster series for Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (LUFF) was awarded joint 3rd place in the INTL International Poster Competition.

Designed for Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (LUFF)

Three layers define the structure: a white halo, the photographic base, and a graphic overlay. Each was treated separately through custom computer processing before being merged into a single composition. The source material comes from a video shoot with a model, later decomposed into 200 still frames. From motion to print, each frame becomes a unique poster in a digitally printed sequence. A series of 200 unique posters, each representing a frame from a video sequence where the light of a strobe gradually intensifies

Selected jury’s comments

Maximage: “This poster stands out for its finesse and elegance, with the treatment of the face and subtle color palette giving it a striking visual presence.
While the layout may seem somewhat simple, the true strength of the project lies in its series of 200 variations. This principle of variation, derived from a video sequence, echoes the Lausanne Underground Film Festival, skillfully playing with repetition and change.”

Warriors Studio: “A fascinating series which demonstrates how powerful a strong idea with a simple execution can be. The layout of the poster is stripped back and on first glance may not excite, however combined with the human face which fades in and out of the frame across the poster editions it works flawlessly. The poster becomes less about design and about life. Seeing something change form, a person fading in and out, coming and going, repetition, phases, transitions – a story which is partially told. It gives enough to hook you in and have you questioning why, who and what. Super nice. The subtlety in the changes too is also key I think and part of what make it feel human. It’s like seeing a moment take place in slow motion. A few seconds captured with a high frame rate and then chopped up and spread physically. An interesting (gentle) explosion of time and exploration of capturing a moment. Great work. ”

Scène Ella Fitzgerald
Neo Neo

Neo Neo’s poster series for Scène Ella Fitzgerald was awarded joint 3rd place in the 2025 International Poster Competition.

Designed for La Scène Ella Fitzgerald, a series of open-air concerts in Geneva’s Parc La Grange. The poster is a sequence of a sunset by the lake in Geneva.

Jury’s comments

Bráulio Amado: “Sunsets images are always corny on posters… but the fact this one isn’t, deserves to be a winner. Simple idea, vibrant colors, super well executed. Yes!!

Maximage: “With the trained eye of graphic designers, this poster caught our attention in the streets before we even knew what it is about. We wonder how people without a design background perceive it?
The simplicity of its composition, combined with the use of bright, contrasting colors, further enhances its visual power.”
